Why isn’t my AI-generated website live yet?
AI tools write code — they don’t give you hosting or a domain. Going live needs three separate things to be connected:
- Hosting — a server that stores your files and shows them to visitors (Netlify, Vercel, Hostinger…).
- A domain — your address, like
mybrand.in, bought from a registrar (GoDaddy, Hostinger, BigRock). - DNS records — the settings that point the domain to the hosting. This is the step most people get stuck on.
- A build step — apps from Lovable, Bolt or v0 are React/Vite projects that must be built (

Upload your files

Add your domain in your host’s dashboard — it will show you the DNS records to add. Then log in to your registrar (GoDaddy, Hostinger, BigRock, Namecheap) and either:
- change the nameservers to the ones your host gives you, or
- add the A record (for
mybrand.in) and CNAME record (forwww) exactly as your host shows.
Copy the values from your own dashboard — they differ between hosts and change over time.
Turn on HTTPS (free SSL)
Once the domain points to your host, SSL is issued automatically on Netlify, Vercel and most Indian hosting plans. Switch on Force HTTPS so visitors never see “Not Secure”.
Make forms work and get found on Google
HTML forms don’t send email on their own. Use your host’s form feature (for example Netlify Forms) or a form service. Finally, open your site on your phone, then add it to Google Search Console and submit your sitemap so Google can find it.
Stop and call a professional if: your project has a package.json file (it’s an app that needs building), it uses a database or logins, the DNS change broke your business email, or you’re not comfortable editing DNS records — a wrong record can take your site and email offline.
