Lovable Custom Domain & Own Hosting, Step by Step
Put a Lovable app on your own domain in two ways: connect the domain inside Lovable (paid plan) by adding the DNS records it shows at your registrar, or sync the code to GitHub, run npm run build and host the dist folder on Netlify, Vercel or Hostinger. Kode Studio, Hyderabad can set up either — ₹499 consultation, refundable.

Is this your problem?
- Your app only works on a
lovable.applink and you wantyourbrand.in. - You bought a domain on GoDaddy or Hostinger and don’t know which records Lovable needs.
- Lovable says your domain is “not verified” or SSL is pending for days.
- You want to stop paying for Lovable hosting and run the app on your own hosting.
- You uploaded the code to Hostinger and got a blank page or 404 on refresh.
- You’re worried your Supabase keys or data are exposed.
If you ticked any of these, the steps below will get you live — or ask us to do it for you.
Should I keep my app on Lovable or host it myself?
Both are valid. Choose based on cost, control and how often you still edit the app in Lovable:
- Keep it on Lovable if you still build and edit with Lovable every week — publishing stays one click and the domain setup is simple.
- Host it yourself if the app is finished, you want full ownership of the code, you want to avoid an extra subscription, or you need hosting in the same place as your business email.
- Either way, your data stays where it is — if the app uses Supabase, the database keeps running on Supabase; only the website files move.
- If your app uses Lovable Cloud for its backend, talk to us before moving it — the backend may need to be migrated separately.
How to connect a custom domain to Lovable (and self-host it)
Steps 1–3 connect a domain while keeping Lovable hosting. Steps 4–7 move the app to your own hosting instead. Lovable’s menus change from time to time — if a label looks different, follow the closest matching option.
You'll need: Your Lovable project · Domain registrar login (GoDaddy, Hostinger, BigRock…) · A GitHub account (for self-hosting) · Node.js (for self-hosting)
Open your project’s domain settings in Lovable
Open the project, go to its Settings → Domains and choose to connect a domain. Enter your domain (for example
mybrand.in). Custom domains need a paid Lovable plan.Add the DNS records Lovable shows
Lovable lists the records to add — usually A records for the root domain and
www, plus a TXT record to verify ownership. Log in to your registrar (GoDaddy: My Products → DNS; Hostinger: Domains → DNS / Nameservers), remove any old A record pointing to a parking page, and add the records exactly as Lovable shows them.Wait for verification and SSL
Lovable verifies the domain and issues free SSL automatically. This often takes minutes, but DNS can take up to 48 hours. Don’t delete your MX records — they run your business email.
To self-host: sync the code to GitHub
Connect GitHub from your Lovable project and let it create a repository. Lovable keeps it in sync, so the full source code is now in your GitHub account.
Build the app
On your computer, with Node.js installed, run:
git clone https://github.com/you/your-app.git cd your-app npm install npm run buildThis creates a
distfolder — the ready-to-host website.Deploy the dist folder
Netlify / Vercel / Cloudflare Pages (easiest): import the GitHub repo, set build command
npm run buildand output folderdist. Every change you make in Lovable then redeploys automatically. See our Netlify guide.Hostinger / cPanel: upload the contents of
distintopublic_html, then add this.htaccessfile so page refreshes don’t show 404:RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.html$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.html [L]Point your domain to the new host and check the backend
Update your domain’s DNS to the new host (and remove the old Lovable records). Then test logins, forms and data. If the app uses Supabase, add your new domain to the allowed URLs in Supabase’s authentication settings, and make sure Row Level Security is enabled on every table.
Stop and call a professional if: logins break after moving, your app uses Lovable Cloud or Supabase edge functions, you see your database tables without Row Level Security, or your business email stopped after a DNS change.
Do it yourself or hire a professional?
| Do it yourself | Kode Studio does it | |
|---|---|---|
| Domain on Lovable | Add records yourself; easy if you know your registrar | We add and verify the records, keep your email working |
| Self-hosting | Needs GitHub, Node.js, build and server rewrites | We build, deploy and set up auto-deploy from GitHub |
| Supabase & logins | Auth redirect URLs and RLS are easy to miss | We update auth URLs and check every table’s RLS |
| Security | Keys and policies in AI code often go unchecked | Security review of keys, policies and environment variables |
| Ongoing changes | You handle every redeploy | Auto-deploy set up so Lovable edits go live by themselves |
Lovable hosting vs self-hosting: comparison
| Hosting on Lovable | Self-hosting (Netlify / Vercel / Hostinger) | |
|---|---|---|
| Custom domain | Yes, on paid plans | Yes, free SSL |
| Publishing changes | One click in Lovable | Automatic from GitHub (Netlify / Vercel) or manual upload (Hostinger) |
| Ongoing cost | Lovable subscription | Free plans available, or your existing hosting plan |
| Code ownership | Synced to your GitHub if connected | Fully yours |
| Business email on same plan | No | Yes on Hostinger-type plans |
| Best for | Apps still being built and edited | Finished apps, cost control, full ownership |

Is my Lovable app safe to put on my own domain?
A 2026 scan of over 1,000 apps built with AI tools found security flaws in 98% of them — most often database tables without Row Level Security and secret keys inside the frontend code. Before you send real customers to your domain, check:
- Every Supabase table has Row Level Security enabled with sensible policies. The public “anon” key is meant to be visible; it’s only safe when RLS is on.
- No secret keys (Stripe secret key, OpenAI key, Supabase
service_rolekey) appear anywhere in your frontend code. Anything in aVITE_variable is visible to visitors. - Your new domain is added to the allowed redirect URLs for login.
Not sure? Our security check covers all of this before launch.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use my own domain with Lovable?
Yes. Lovable supports custom domains on its paid plans. Open your project’s domain settings, enter your domain and add the DNS records Lovable shows at your registrar.
Can I host a Lovable app without a Lovable subscription?
Yes. Sync the project to GitHub, run npm run build and host the dist folder on Netlify, Vercel, Cloudflare Pages or Hostinger. If it uses Supabase, the database keeps working on Supabase.
How do I export my Lovable project?
Connect GitHub from the project — Lovable creates a repository with the full source code and keeps it in sync. You can then clone it or deploy it anywhere.
Why does my Lovable app show 404 when I refresh on Hostinger?
Lovable apps are single-page React apps. Add an .htaccess rewrite that sends all routes to index.html (shown in step 6 above).
Where do I add Lovable DNS records in GoDaddy?
In GoDaddy, open My Products, choose your domain and open DNS. Delete any old parking A record, then add the A and TXT records Lovable shows. Leave MX records untouched.
Will my Supabase database move too?
No — only the website files move. The database stays on Supabase. Add your new domain to Supabase’s allowed redirect URLs so logins keep working.
How much does Kode Studio charge for Lovable deployment?
It depends on your app. Get a free estimate on WhatsApp, or book a ₹499 consultation — refunded when you book any service.

Lovable project ki domain settings mein apna domain add karein, phir jo A aur TXT records dikhte hain unhe apne registrar (GoDaddy / Hostinger) ke DNS mein add karein. MX records delete na karein, warna email band ho jayega.
“Is it safe to launch an app built with Lovable?”
Only after checking Row Level Security on every Supabase table and making sure no secret keys are in the frontend code. Most security problems in AI-built apps come from these two issues.
